Push For Better – July 2019

This July, the team at Candlefox HQ in Melbourne is taking part in the Push For Better – Pushup challenge, to raise funds and awareness for Headspace.
From 8th – 28th July, our team is collectively going to complete 3,218 pushups over the course of 21 days.
This fantastic initiative is aimed at raising awareness and recognising all Australian who will experience mental health conditions over their lifetime.
The 3,128 pushup total represents the total number of lives lost due to mental health issues in 2017.

The Candlefox team in action
The Candlefox crew jumped at the chance to get involved, and we hope that we’re playing a small role in spreading the message and support to those in need in the community.
We’re proud of our sports and fitness culture in the office, and firmly believe that exercising encourages a healthy working environment and fosters team spirit! Studies say that there is a strong correlation between exercise and mental health, and we couldn’t agree more.
While the push-ups themselves are hard, we love a challenge, and we’re smashing them out over lunch, over coffee and sometimes during our meetings as well!
While fundraising isn’t the primary goal of The Push Up Challenge, the Candlefox Team is keen to raise as much money for the initiative as possible.
All funds raised during the challenge will go right to Headspace – Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation. Headspace does fantastic work in supporting, educating and helping the community around mental health issues.
According to headspace, more than 75% of mental health issues develop before a person turns 25, which is why the organisation plays a crucial role in trying to address the needs of young people and how they can access mental health support across the country. Headspace operates more than 100+ national centres, as well as online services and clinical programs all over Australia.
The Push Up Challenge has already raised over $1,500,000 to date!
